The cooldown reducing component of Bravado makes Cooldown Reduction items like Frozen Heart, Iceborn Gauntlet, and Spirit Visage exceptionally powerful on Taric.
Using Starlight's Touch at lower charges makes its healing less Mana efficient, but can greatly increase Taric's sustained damage via Bravado.
Rather than saving Cosmic Radiance for the last moment and risking someone dying during the delay, it can be more beneficial to cast it as soon as you know a teamfight is guaranteed to start.
Devastating Charge deals more damage based on the distance traveled. Try using Onslaught of Shadows or Summoner Spells such as Ghost or Flash to maximize this damage.
Spirit of Dread restores Health when nearby enemies take damage, including damage dealt by allies. Cast this during a large fight to maximize Hecarim's survivability.

Overall, Taric sees a large worsening in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Hecarim. His KDA went down from NaN to NaN. This fall shows that Hecarim helps Taric perform not as well in competitive LoL matches. Yet, the small difference proves that this performance change is only marginal.
When Taric plays on the same team as Hecarim, he gets a barely noticable drop in his total damage output. This may indicate that Hecarim does not provide protection for him to deal more damage or that his presence also helps extend the round's duration. Similarly, when Taric is played together with Hecarim on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays on his own. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing synergisticly with Hecarim.
Moreover, when Taric plays with Hecarim on the same team, he usually takes less damage than when he fights alone. Receiving not as much damage may indicate that Hecarim does a decent job of protecting Taric in teamfights.
There is no ideal ally for Taric that will 100% of the time be his ideal ally. Yet, overall, Hecarim is a very typical ally for Taric. By playing on the same side as Taric, he decreases their win rate by -0.7% to 51.5%. This clearly indicates that there is a weak strategic relationship between Taric and Hecarim that allows them to perform worse together than alone.
Hecarim has a greater difficulty than Taric. That means Taric players must be careful when lining up Hecarim comrades to go into battle on the same side as, as they will have to have a greater level of skill to be able to cooperate well with you.
Fighting alongside, you should see an overall large increase in your team’s capability to tank a lot of damage. When paired, these two will be a great protective duo.
Although, by bringing Taric and Hecarim together, you will not be providing your side very much AP. Plan to bring other champions on your team that neutralizes this disparity in this pairing's capabilities.
Regardless of the ability of your Hecarim ally, you should focus on maximizing your gold income, staying alive by avoiding foolish fights, and clearing objectives. If you follow these simple suggestions, you should do well anyway.
