When Sion tries to synergize with Veigar, he observes a small increase in his full damage output. This could indicate that Veigar supports by providing protection for him to dish out more damage or that his presence also helps extend the game's duration. Similarly, when Sion is played together with Veigar on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays without Veigar. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing synergisticly with Veigar.
Additionally, when Sion plays with Veigar on the same side, he on average takes a little more damage than when he plays alone. Taking more damage may mean that Veigar does a poor job of protecting Sion during team fights.
There is no universally accepted best companion for Sion that will no matter what be his #1 teammate. However, overall, Veigar is a not very good ally for Sion. By playing on the same side as Sion, he drops their win rate by -1.2% to 49.0%. This demonstrates that there is a harmful strategic relationship between Sion and Veigar that allows them to perform not as well together than alone.
Veigar has a greater difficulty than Sion. That means you must be cautious when finding Veigar teammates to fight alongside, as they will have to have a greater level of skill to be able to work well with you.
When playing on the same side, you will likely observe an overall large increase in your team’s ability to to do a lot of AP damage. Combined, these two are able to dish out a surprising amount of magic type damage.
In contrast, by pairing Sion and Veigar together, you will not be granting your other allies very much anti-tank damage dealing potential. Make sure to include other champions on your team that neutralizes this disparity in their playstyle.
