Kassadin's ultimate has many uses and is on a shorter cooldown than most, use it often.
Kassadin has multiple item paths; he can go caster via Mana and Ability Power or anti-caster with Cooldown Reduction and Magic Resist.
Try to get the Ancient Golem buff to counteract Riftwalk's increasing Mana cost.

Remember to pick your target before the fight. Focusing all of Talon's abilities on one target can be very rewarding, but splitting them up between many may leave you helpless.

Overall, Kassadin sees a large worsening in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Talon. His KDA went down from NaN to NaN. This decrease shows that Talon helps Kassadin perform not as well in ranked League games. Yet, the small difference demonstrates that this performance change is only marginal.
When Kassadin plays on the same team as Talon, he gets a small decrease in his total damage output. This change could demonstrate that Talon does not provide protection for him to deal more damage or that his presence on the team also helps extend the round's duration. Similarly, when Kassadin is played alongside Talon on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees than when he plays without Talon. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing with Talon.
Moreover, when Kassadin plays with Talon on the same side, he typically receives a little less damage than when he plays alone. Receiving not as much damage could indicate that Talon does a decent job of covering Kassadin during teamfights.
There is no perfect ally for Kassadin that will 100% of the time be his ideal synergy. However, overall, Talon is a not very good companion for Kassadin. By being on the same team as Kassadin, he lowers their win rate by -1.1% to 48.9%. This clearly indicates that there is a bad strategic relationship between Kassadin and Talon that allows them to perform not as well together than alone.
Talon has a lower difficulty than Kassadin. That means Kassadin players don't need to be cautious when enlisting Talon comrades to fight alongside, as they will have to have a lower level of skill to do well with you.
When playing on the same side, you should expect to witness an overall large increase in your team’s ability to destroy wih physical damage. Together, these champions should be able to take down targets with auto-attacks and other AD damage abilities.
Although, by pairing Kassadin and Talon together, you probably will not be granting your side much crowd control. Make sure to include other champs on your team that helps cover this relative gap in this pairing's playstyle.
Regardless of the skill of your Talon teammate, you need to focus on increasing your gold income, outlasting your enemies, and clearing objectives. If you heed this simple advice, you should do well anyway.
