In the lane, try to position your soldiers between the enemy's minions and the enemy champion. This way you can use them both to last hit and to project threat onto your lane opponent.
Be careful about putting down both of the soldiers stored by Arise! Unless you're going all-in, always have a soldier in your back pocket if you need to escape over a wall or if you misposition your other soldier and need damage now.
Think of Emperor's Divide as a defensive ability first and foremost. Use it when the enemy engages on you or your allies. Remember that your team can walk through the soldiers summoned by Emperor's Divide and use this to your advantage when enemy melee champions engage on you.
The Ivern Azir synergy stats shown here demonstrate the areas of his gameplay that do better (or worse) when paired with Azir, compared to his overall stats. Significant differences are areas of focus that highlight how his gameplay changes when paired with this other champion.
Overall, Ivern sees a large worsening in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Azir. His KDA fell from NaN to NaN. This drop shows that Azir helps Ivern perform worse in ranked League of Legends matches. Yet, the small difference shows that this performance change is not very impactful.
When Ivern is paired with Azir, he observes a barely noticable drop in his total damage dealt. This change may indicate that Azir doesn't help protection for him to deal more damage or that his allyship also helps extend the round's duration. Similarly, when Ivern is played with Azir on the same side, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays without Azir. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing synergisticly with Azir.
Additionally, when Ivern plays with Azir on the same side, he often receives a little less damage than when he plays alone. Taking not as much damage could mean that Azir does a decent job of protecting Ivern during team fights.
There is no universally accepted best companion for Ivern that will 100% of the time be his top synergy. Yet, overall, Azir is a very typical companion for Ivern. By locking into the same side as Ivern, he raises their win rate by 0.5% to 51.3%. This clearly indicates that there is only a small synergy between Ivern and Azir that results in them performing stronger together than without each other.
Azir has a greater difficulty than Ivern. That means Ivern players must be cautious when finding Azir allies to go into battle on the same side as, as they will require a greater level of skill to be able to work well with you.
Playing on the same side, you should expect to see an overall large increase in your team’s capacity to deal magic damage. Together, these champions can blast through enemies with magic damage.
Conversely, by grouping Ivern and Azir together, you will not be giving your other allies a great deal of tankyness. We recommend you have other champs on your team that helps cover this hole in their playstyle.
Regardless of the ability of your Azir ally, you need to focus on increasing your gold income, staying alive by avoiding foolish fights, and taking down objectives. If you do this, you will do well, regardless.
