Overall, Gnar sees a very large drop in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Gragas. His KDA decreased from NaN to NaN. This fall shows that Gragas helps Gnar perform poorer in competitive LoL games. Yet, the small difference proves that this performance change is not very impactful.
When Gnar tries to synergize with Gragas, he gets a barely noticable drop in his total damage dealt. This difference may demonstrate that Gragas does not provide cover for him to dish out more damage or that his presence also helps extend the round's duration. Similarly, when Gnar is played alongside Gragas on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays without Gragas. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing with Gragas.
Moreover, when Gnar plays with Gragas on the same side, he typically takes a little less damage than when he fights alone. Receiving not as much damage may mean that Gragas does a decent job of protecting Gnar in teamfights.
There is no top synergy for Gnar that will 100% of the time be his top teammate. Yet, Gragas is a not very good teammate for Gnar. By being on the same team as Gnar, he lowers their win rate by -2.1% to 45.9%. This demonstrates that there is a bad strategic relationship between Gnar and Gragas that results in them performing worse together than alone.
Gragas has a much lower diffuclty than Gnar. That means Gnar players don't need to be very careful when lining up Gragas comrades to fight alongside, as they will have to have a much lower level of skill to be able to work well with you.
Fighting alongside, Gnar players should expect to observe an overall large increase in your team’s ability to tank a lot of damage. Together, these two will be a great protective duo.
Conversely, by pairing Gnar and Gragas together, you may not be giving your other allies a great deal of AD. Plan to pick other champions on your team that neutralizes this disparity in their capabilities.
Regardless of the skill of your Gragas ally, you should focus on increasing your gold income, staying alive by avoiding foolish fights, and taking down objectives. If you do this, you should do well, regardless.
