Overall, Ekko sees a very large drop in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Aphelios. His KDA fell from NaN to NaN. This drop shows that Aphelios helps Ekko perform not as well in ranked League of Legends rounds. Yet, the small difference proves that this performance change is only marginal.
When Ekko is an ally to Aphelios, he observes a barely noticable drop in his total damage dealt. This difference may demonstrate that Aphelios does not provide cover for him to dish out more damage or that his support also helps increase the game's duration. Similarly, when Ekko is played with Aphelios on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays without Aphelios. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing synergisticly with Aphelios.
Moreover, when Ekko plays with Aphelios on the same side, he on average receives a little less damage than when he plays alone. Taking not as much damage may indicate that Aphelios does a decent job of protecting Ekko during teamfights.
There is no top ally for Ekko that will no matter what be his best teammate. Yet, Aphelios is a very typical teammate for Ekko. By being on the same team as Ekko, he drops their win rate by -0.8% to 50.2%. This shows that there is not really a strong bond between Ekko and Aphelios that allows them to perform not as well together than alone.
Aphelios has a greater difficulty than Ekko. That means Ekko players should be very careful when enlisting Aphelios comrades to play with, as they will require a greater level of skill to be able to play well with you.
Fighting on the same side, you will likely witness an overall large increase in your team’s capacity to destroy wih physical damage. Together, these champs should be able to take down targets with auto-attacks and other AD damage abilities.
In contrast, by pairing Ekko and Aphelios together, you will not be granting your other allies enough cover. We recommend you include other champs on your team that offsets this disparity in their playstyle.
Regardless of your Aphelios ally's skill level, you need to focus on maximizing your gold income, warding to avoid ambushes, and clearing objectives. If you do this, you should do well, regardless.
