In the lane, try to position your soldiers between the enemy's minions and the enemy champion. This way you can use them both to last hit and to project threat onto your lane opponent.
Be careful about putting down both of the soldiers stored by Arise! Unless you're going all-in, always have a soldier in your back pocket if you need to escape over a wall or if you misposition your other soldier and need damage now.
Think of Emperor's Divide as a defensive ability first and foremost. Use it when the enemy engages on you or your allies. Remember that your team can walk through the soldiers summoned by Emperor's Divide and use this to your advantage when enemy melee champions engage on you.
Despite his abilities scaling on Armor, some games require Malphite to get Magic Resist. When those games occur, try getting Aegis of the Legion, Mercury's Treads, and Guardian Angel.
Armor naturally reduces the rate that attacks go through Granite Shield, so Brutal Strikes will strengthen the shield against physical damage.
The Azir Malphite synergy stats shown here demonstrate the areas of his gameplay that do better (or worse) when paired with Malphite, compared to his overall stats. Significant differences are areas of focus that highlight how his gameplay changes when paired with this other champion.
Overall, Azir sees a large worsening in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Malphite. His KDA worsened from NaN to NaN. This fall shows that Malphite helps Azir perform worse in competitive League matches. Yet, the small difference demonstrates that this performance change is not very impactful.
When Azir plays on the same team as Malphite, he observes a small decrease in his complete damage dealt. This difference could indicate that Malphite does not support by providing protection for him to dish out more damage or that his presence also helps increase the match's duration. Similarly, when Azir is played with Malphite on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees than when he plays on his own. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing with Malphite.
Additionally, when Azir plays with Malphite on the same side, he on average takes a little less damage than when he fights alone. Taking not as much damage may indicate that Malphite does a decent job of covering Azir during teamfights.
There is no universally accepted best companion for Azir that will always be his best teammate. However, Malphite is a very typical companion for Azir. By locking into the same side as Azir, he raises their win rate by 0.5% to 50.7%. This demonstrates that there is not really a strong strategic relationship between Azir and Malphite that allows them to perform better together than without each other.
Malphite has a much lower diffuclty than Azir. That means you don't need to be very careful when lining up Malphite allies to play with, as they will have to have a much lower level of skill to be able to fight well with you.
Fighting cooperatively, you should witness an overall large increase in your team’s ability to deal magic damage. Combined, these champs are able to dish out a surprising amount of magic type damage.
Conversely, by pairing Azir and Malphite together, you probably will not be granting your team enough attack damage. Make sure to pick other champs on your team that offsets this relative disparity in their kit.
Regardless of the skill of your Malphite ally, you need to focus on increasing your income, staying alive by avoiding foolish fights, and taking down objectives. If you do this, you will do well, regardless.
