Both LoL champions are great champions. Both have their strengths, weaknesses, and counters. In League's current meta, Riven usually loses when facing off against Braum, with a 46.8% win rate. As a result, Riven makes a poor counter for Braum.

While Riven does have a lower win rate compared to Braum, when facing one another, Riven also has a much greater learning curve that makes her a more complex champ to learn and master. You may get destroyed when picking Riven into Braumas her relative depth means that you may not be able to unleash her full potential without a significant amount of practice beforehand.

Riven often gets much more CS as Braum. Champs who on average don't take much CS often don't require much CS to be valuable teammates, such as sup champs. They are able to scale well off of their abilities and first items alone. Yet, champions with large amounts of CS, such as hyper-carries, often need several high cost items to be effective. In either situation, try to surpass the values reported here to do well.

The most important items to use in your Riven versus Braum build include Couperet noir, Lance de Shojin, and Ciel éventré. When Riven included at least these three pieces in her build, she performed a lot better countering Braum than with many other typical item sets.
