The stats provided here show several strategic Ivern versus Zed matchup statistics that can help us interpret the distinctions between the two. As an example, Ivern’s KDA ratio ([kills + assists] / deaths) of NaN is greater than Zed’s KDA ratio of NaN, demonstrating that Ivern may be more central to his team's team fighting capacity than Zed. This observation is in large part a result of the differences in assists.
Ivern often has a significantly smaller longest kill spree than his enemy does. On average, he takes less damage than Zed. Furthermore, Ivern has some amount of CC and other utility, a similar amount to Zed. This makes her just as valuable during teamfights, especially when facing champions with a ton of burst damage.
While there isn't one best champion in League of Legends, in Ivern vs Zed matchups, Ivern is the better champ with a noticably higher win rate, similar champion depth, and a similar amount of utility to help out your team members during team fights.
Ivern is a good counter to Zed. You will do well by focussing your play on increasing your gold and cs and taking out objectives. If you do that, you should hold your own as Ivern against Zed.

The ideal items to prioritize in your Ivern versus Zed build include Redemption, Staff of Flowing Water, and Moonstone Renewer. When Ivern combined at least these three pieces in his build, he did a lot better versus Zed than with most other common item sets. In fact, Ivern boasted an average win rate of 53.0% battling Zed with this counter build.
To have the highest chance of annihilating Zed as Ivern, you should take the Summon Aery, Nimbus Cloak, Transcendence, Waterwalking, Eyeball Collection, and Relentless Hunter runes from the Sorcery and Domination rune sets.
