Zac Counters

The greatest champs not in lane to counter Zac include Kalista, Samira, and Xayah. These champions are all good at countering Zac with decent win rates over 55%. Even if these Zac counter picks are not chosen opposite your position, it's not smart to take him into these matchups. They will most often beat Zac.

Yet, if the other team picks either Kled or Seraphine, you should seriously think about taking him, as he easily wins against these selections with win rates over 54% against each ofthem.

Understand Zac's game pattern: Zac is a powerful early game Jungler who can execute long-ranged ganks out of vision. So ensure that you are vigilant about his movements and make sure to ward effectively to prevent unexpected gunk paths.

Keep track of Zac's passive: If Zac's passive is down, he can't play as aggressively due to the risk of him being killed. This is particularly applicable for early to mid-game fights. Therefore, exploiting this period can help to counter his impact.

Avoid wall proximity: Minimize the chance for Zac to all-in you by refraining from staying close to walls. If you make it harder for him to all-in you from the fog of war, he will then have to take conventional and predictable gank paths.

Overpower Zac's sustainability: Zac can keep regaining his health in a fight by collecting his W blobs, which can make him difficult to kill. By focusing on out damaging his sustainability or preventing him from collecting his blobs, you can weaken his fight potential.

Exploit Zac's engagement disadvantage: Once Zac engages with his E, he can't retreat easily because of the high initial cooldown of this ability. This can be used to your advantage by forcing him into unfavorable fights.

Be cautious on Zac's power spikes: Zac gains power spikes at levels 6, 9 and 11 where he can CC multiple targets and secure many picks. Be aware of these and try to avoid confrontations during these power periods.

Contain Zac's Tankiness: In later stages of the game, Zac becomes massively tanky and can act as both an engager and a peeler for his team. Act strategically by focusing on his team's damage dealers, or utilize penetration and grievous wound items to counter his tankiness.
