Trundle Counters

The top champs out of lane to counter Trundle include Zeri, Ezreal, and Kai'Sa. These champions are all good at countering Trundle with high win rates over 51%. Even if these Trundle counter picks are not chosen in the same position as you, it's not a good idea to choose him into any of these matchups. They will usually win against Trundle.

Yet, if the other team choses either Braum or Anivia, Trundle mains should strongly think about picking him, as he easily dominates these selections with win rates over 57% against both ofthem.

Trundle isn't powerful during the early game so take advantage of his weaknesses. Go for short, burst trades when possible and retreat using your abilities to minimize damage.

Trundle relies heavily on his teammates for successful ganks. If you can exploit his reliance and isolate him, you might force him into a less active role during the early game, reducing his effectiveness.

Despite the powerful dueling potential of Trundle's Ultimate R, he's vulnerable without his items. If you manage to take him down once or twice early on, you can shut him down before he gets strong.

Trundle can be easily kited by ranged carries once his W ability has been used. If you're using a ranged champion, take advantage of this by forcing him to overextend without his team's backup.

Trundle gains strength in the mid-game, focusing on split pushing and securing side objectives. Grouping with your team and denying him the opportunity to split push can be effective.

In late game, Trundle focuses on peeling for his carries in team fights. Taking out his carries early in a team fight can neuter his effectiveness and give your team the upper hand.

If Trundle starts getting ahead, remember that a good portion of his strength comes from the items. Thus, item denial, through destroying objectives or denying him kills, can help maintain the balance.
