Kog'Maw Counters

The best picks not in lane to counter Kog'Maw include Hecarim, Talon, and Poppy. These champions are all good at countering Kog'Maw with win rates over 62%. Even if these Kog'Maw counter picks are not taken in the same position as you, it's not a good idea to take him into one of these matchups. They will usually win against Kog'Maw.

Yet, if the opposing team brings either Tristana or Bel'Veth, you should strongly think about choosing him, as he easily dominates these selections with win rates over 55% against each ofthem.

Capitalize on Kog'Maw's early game weakness. He is rather vulnerable in the beginning, so use this time to gain as much gold and XP as possible. Wait until you have a few levels under your belt before engaging in fights.

Be wary of his W ability, as this forms the core of his kit. However, once this ability is down, Kog'Maw is largely ineffective unless he has an item or numbers advantage. Try to engage him when his W is down for an easier fight.
