The best champs out of lane to counter Jayce include Kog'Maw, Kai'Sa, and Sivir. These picks are all good at countering Jayce with win rates over 61%. Even if these Jayce counter picks are not picked opposite your position, it's not a good idea to choose him into any of these matchups. They will often beat Jayce.

Conversely, if the other team brings either Naafiri or Shaco, you should seriously consider choosing him, as he easily dominates these selections with win rates over 52% against each ofthem.

Jayce is a high-poke champion and heavily relies on his E > Q combo for engaging and disengaging fights. Playing characters with strong sustain or shielding capabilities can help negate this poke pressure.

Despite having access to multiple abilities from level one, Jayce is notably weak in the early game. Capitalize on this weakness by applying early pressure and disrupting his farming.

Jayce lacks a traditional Ultimate R at level 6, which most top laners utilize for increased power or as a game-changer. This limits his potential for major power spikes at levels 6, 11, and 16. Exploit these windows of opportunity to turn the tide.
